StrataPrep Plasmid Mini Prep Kits - Details & Specifications

The StrataPrep Plasmid Miniprep Kit provides a rapid, phenol-free method for purifying pure plasmid DNA. The bacteria is pelleted, lysed, and then neutralized. The precleared lysate is mixed with the DNA binding solution and transferred to the microspin cup. Once bound, the DNA is washed and then eluted and ready for use (Figure 1).

Novel Purification Method for a Variety of Applications

The StrataPrep Plasmid Miniprep Kits utilze a special silica-based fiber matrix technology in a microspin-column format to capture DNA in the presence of a chaotropic salt. Contaminants are washed away while the DNA remains bound to the fiber matrix, allowing the recovery of exceptionally clean DNA. Each kit is optimized for a specific application for high-efficiency purification. DNA purified with StrataPrep kits is application-ready in minutes, with no need for aliquotting messy slurries, extracting with phenol, or concentrating the DNA via alcohol precipitations.

StrataPrep DNA Gel Extraction Kits - Details & Specifications

The StrataPrep DNA gel extraction kit is a rapid method for extracting gel-fractionated DNA from agarose gels. The method employs a microspin cup that contains a silica-based fiber matrix. In the presence of a chaotropic salt, the agarose is dissolved and the DNA binds to the fiber matrix. Following gel fractionation of the DNA, the desired fragment is cut from the gel, placed in a microcentrifuge tube, combined with the DNA extraction buffer, incubated at 50°C, and transferred to a microspin cup that is seated inside a receptacle tube. The DNA binds to the fiber matrix in the microspin cup. The contaminants are then washed from the microspin cup with a wash buffer. The purified DNA is eluted from the fiber matrix with a low-ionic-strength buffer and captured in a microcentrifuge tube. Double-stranded DNA ³100 bp is retained. This simple method of DNA extraction eliminates the need for manipulation of resins, toxic phenol–chloroform extractions, and time-consuming ethanol precipitations. The result is purified DNA that is ready for restriction digestion, ligation, and probe labeling (Figure 1).

StrataPrep PCR Purification Kits - Details & Specifications

The StrataPrep PCR purification kit provides a rapid method to separate PCR products from PCR primers, unincorporated nucleotides, buffer components, and enzymes. The method employs a microspin cup that contains a silica-based fiber matrix. In the presence of a chaotropic salt, DNA binds to the fiber matrix.

Following PCR amplification, the PCR product is combined with a DNA-binding solution and transferred to a microspin cup that is seated inside a receptacle tube. The PCR product binds to the fiber matrix in the microspin cup. The contaminants are then washed from the microspin cup with a wash buffer. The purified PCR products are eluted from the fiber matrix with a low-ionic-strength buffer and captured in a microcentrifuge tube. Double-stranded DNA ³100 bp is retained. This simple method of DNA purification eliminates tedious manipulation of resins, the toxic phenol–chloroform extraction, and the time-consuming ethanol precipitation used in other DNA purification methods. The result is a highly purified PCR product (Figure 1) that is ready for restriction digestion, ligation, and sequencing reactions. In addition to the purification of PCR products, the StrataPrep PCR purification kit provides a rapid method to separate fluorescence-labeled cDNA from uncoupled or unincorporated fluorescent dye, primers, buffer components, and enzymes. The method can be used to purify fluorescence-labeled cDNA from either direct or indirect fluorescent cDNA labeling protocols. The purified cDNA is ready for use in microarray hybridizations.

    StrataPrep 96 PCR Purification Kit

The StrataPrep 96 PCR purification kit provides a rapid method to simultaneously purify 96 PCR products from PCR primers, unincorporated nucleotides, buffer components, and enzymes. This simple method of DNA purification eliminates the need for tedious manipulation of resins, toxic phenol–chloroform extraction, and the time-consuming ethanol precipitation used in other DNA purification methods.

Following PCR amplification, the PCR products are combined with a DNA-binding solution and transferred to a StrataPrep 96-well binding plate. Each well of the StrataPrep binding plate contains a silica-based fiber matrix. A chaotropic salt present in the DNA-binding solution enables the DNA to bind to the fiber matrix. Unbound contaminants are then washed from each well. Purified PCR products are eluted from the fiber matrix using a low ionic strength buffer and captured in a 96-well collection plate. Double-stranded DNA ³100 bp in length is retained in the collection plate. The result is a highly-purified PCR product that can be used in restriction digestion, ligation, and sequencing reactions.
